iallen2000 Offseason Business

Ok, we have officially been in the off season for almost a month. There have been some surprises, but not really. I guess the only concern at this point would be for some one in my point of view a (Hall of Fame Quarterback), and if you dispute that, well... you don't know, well now you know Baby! Kurt Warner not getting a deal done before free agency begins is just not a correct position to be in if you are the Arizona Cardinals. You've just tasted success, the first time in 61 years. It would… Continue

iallen2000 MATT STOVER

Ok, I am appreciative of every single position that touches the field of play for football, and I understand the value of points that need to be scored if you cannot get 6 from a touch down. AND 3 points is better than nothing when you are in the heat of the battle of a game. But come on Ravens fans, voting Matt Stover as your all time franchise player is silly. If you haven't heard that the fans voted Matt Stover (Kicker) as all time franchise player...visit http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news… Continue

iallen2000 Packer's WR

In ligth of all the attention that the Packers have received in the last month over the Brett Favre issue, I feel it is warranted to talk about them post Favre. It was shocking to see the standing ovation at Lambeau Field when the Green Bay offense took the field for the 1st time in 2008. Aaron Rodgers was a little edgy at times, but overall held his composure. What I am most intrigued by is the play of the WR's along with Rodgers. After last night, you can clearly see that they have spent a l… Continue

iallen2000 Final Thought

Brett Favre is going to the New York Jets. It couldn't be a better fit for him, and for both parties to move forward. Now for some who have eluded to what will the critics say by the middle of the season and Brett Favre is balling and putting up sick numbers... Here is a response: If you look at what the Jets Mike Tannenbaum said "We had discussions with him and his agent, Bus Cook," Tannenbaum said, "and we're going into this and we're going to take this one year at a time and we're excited t… Continue

iallen2000 Cradle of QB's in Packer nation

You know, this whole situation has gotten out of hand. I understand that Brett Favre is a Hall of Fame player who can still play, but the issue from an organization's stand point is that they have to high draft picks on their roster who will have to sit again. The Packers are being forced to waste draft picks at this point. They have Aaron Rodgers, Brian Brohm, and Matt Flynn. The 1st two are high draft picks. With a certain degree of confidence, the Packer's had moved on expecting Brett Favre… Continue

iallen2000 Brett Favre Encore!

Time and time again, you have an icon retire, and make a come back, with the most notable being Micheal Jordan. Jordan returned on the scene and won a championship or two, then retired and returned a 2nd time, and the return was ...OK, but certainly was not the Jordan we were used to and also, no championship. Now I like to watch Brett Favre, but he said some key things when he retired. One being that he was mentally tired, and the pressure of the game was continuing to build to perform an impo… Continue

iallen2000 Strah Daddy!!!

I have to say I will personally miss Micheal Strahan on the football field. He is just such an emotional leader on and off the field. He has helped me tremendously as far as business is concerned and pointing me in the right direction. Last season, I was asked quite a bit about who I thought would win the Super Bowl, and I could only say the Giants because I know the heart and soul of that lockeroom and alot of it comes from #92. I remember the tough times of dealing with the New York media, an… Continue

iallen2000 Fantasy Football

Well, it is coming close to the NFL 2008 football season. In my opinion, 2008 is just flying by. I figured I need to cover some things about Fantasy Football. 1st, I might be an expert at the NFL, but fantasy football, don't count on it..LOL. Last year I competed for the 1st time on SKY Sports, and I almost got beat by one of the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders. But sticking to my favorite guns in Tom Brady & Randy Moss, that kept out of the dog house. What interfered in my game was when I woul… Continue

iallen2000 The Great Taylor Debate!

Ok Dolphin fans...I am sure you all are awaiting some kind of change, but the fact of the matter is they are in a rebuilding stage. I can't say that there is another 1-15 season on the horizon again (especially not with the Tuna on board), but with moves with not trying to appease your star player...and the draft having already taken place, it is turning into bad business. If they had planned on treating Jason Taylor the way that they are, they should have really pushed to get a trade for him d… Continue

iallen2000 Your Fired!!!

How many times have people heard that word that has been famous by Donald Trump over the last few years. Close to around 100,000 plus people in our country. NOW, I am not that big on politics and such, but the whole economic slow has even hit the NFL. If you haven't heard already, NFL Films has layed off 21 employees. I was surprised, but I guess the way things are going these days with gas hitting record highs and such.... Why don't we all just decide as a Nation....for 2 days... Don't Drive… Continue

iallen2000 New York Giants

The New York Giants have not made much of a splash this offseason...not to surprising considering they won the Super Bowl. You know the saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But I will question one aspect of their off season progress. The signing of David Carr, raises my eyebrows a little. Clearly he has some talent, he was the number one pick in the draft before, and he showed flashes of a decent quarterback in Texas when he arrived, and sure he took a beating year in and year out for a few… Continue

iallen2000 Hot Lanta!!!

Its around 70 degrees or so in Atlanta, but my question is what is the temperature in Flowery Branch? Right now the Georgia Force are in full effect and making things happen in the Arena Football League, but what about the Atlanta Falcons? I understand using the draft to make a team fresh and having a fresh start, but you need to have some veterans in your locker room. Mike Smith as a head coach is capable of winning the respect from veterans and of course rookies. They have 9 picks entering th… Continue

iallen2000 Brett Favre retires

The all time touchdown leader finally called it quits. I know there are a lot of people will want Brett Favre to continue, but ladies and gentlemen, when it is time, it is time. It is hard to make that final decision from the NFL because a majority of your life is dedicated to knock in heads, kickin a-- and takin names. But the reality of it is, is the game is very demanding. The time you put in the film room, the meetings, OTA's, mini-camps, training camps, let alone the season, and playoffs.… Continue

iallen2000 Special Notice

I just wanted to give a special mention to the IAFL (Irish American Football League) and the University of Limerick Vikings, who won the Irish National Championship in in 2007. Congratulations. Also, this is part of the reason for being apart of the international football movement. There are so many unsung heros out there who play the game purely for the passion. For you name callers on NFL UK.com come here...and let me hear what you have to say. Also, to set ANY record straight...I will just… Continue

iallen2000 Free Agency Again!!!

Free Agency in the National Football League has officially begun, and I was going to be very surprised if I saw a guy like Flozell "the Hotel" Adams hit the open market from the Dallas Cowboys. Fine, I know there are some people who do not like the Cowboys, but that would not have been a smart move. Considering that he has been their staple Left Tackle for the last 10 years with missing around 9 games during that time. He is a baller, and I'm happy he got paid. One surprise for me is that Rand… Continue
